Philippine South District Governor Magi Martinez sent a clear message to Kiwanis Club of Kalibo and Kiwanis Club of Golden Salakot Aklan leaders to continue in transforming and inspiring club members amid these challenging times.
“Our Kiwanis clubs have not been spared from this state of calamity. We have taken an unfortunate downturn apparently stunting initiatives for our clubs growth. In the midst of anxiety affecting everyone, we continue to stay positive,” Martinez said.
In a message shared during the Kalibo clubs turnover ceremony, the Kiwanis district governor stressed “in due time, the Kiwanis members, together as one, overcome and go over the hump, as they adjust to the new normal way of living during and after the coronavirus pandemic.”

The turnover ceremony took place in Polo, New Washington, Aklan on October 3. Lawyer Jerome Padios succeeded Dence Lim as president of Kiwanis Club of Kalibo. Donesa Cezar also has taken the top job in Kiwanis Club of Golden Salakot Aklan from Roly Equina, Jr.
The district governor lauded the clubs particularly the Kalibo and Golden Salakot Aklan for the multi-projects to the children in the province of Aklan.
“KC Kalibo, the mother club in Division 2C, and KC Golden Salakot Aklan are two of the most active clubs and models to all clubs in Philippine South District,” Martinez said in his message.
Martinez also reminded the clubs to focus on youth leadership programs, impact projects, membership retention and growth, service leadership programs and Kiwanis education especially on six objects of Kiwanis.
“I hope and pray that the events of 2020 dictates upon us to look at the future with great determination, perseverance and optimism. We shall continue on serving the children of the world, one child and one community at a time, because kids need Kiwanis. Let us Move Ahead, Get Involved!” he added.
